The PTC Summer Fun Run Series featured three different trail races on Aug. 6, 13 and 20.

Seven runners and race walkers broke course age group records on Aug. 17 at the second annual Williamsburg Realtors Raising the Roof 5K run and walk.

Emma Rogers, 24, of Williamsburg had the fastest women's time at the Aug. 10 CDR SuperHero Dash 5K despite watching the men’s Olympic Marathon from 2-4 a.m. that morning.

Isabella Strumke, 10, of Toano, recently earned her fourth All-American honor at the AAU Junior Olympics track meet in Greensboro, N.C.

Svitlana Honcharova placed first at the July 20 Joe-Zilla 5 Miler and claimed the three-race Trailzilla title. All races were at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton.

For the fastest runners at the Yorktown Fourth of July 8K race, it was either a family affair, or a homecoming, or both.

Two men’s and six women’s age group records were broken at the June 29 Night Owl 9K.

Runners persevered through hot temperatures at the Timberneck 5K and Chesty Puller 10K and 11K on June 22.

Emma Rogers set a course record at the fifth annual FURever Homes 8K on June 15.

Rogers, a Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School teacher-to-be, gets back into running with a victory. Otstot takes a comfortable lead and eases to a triumph.
