UPDATED:

Police in Hampton are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals and vehicles they say are involved in a triple shooting in the city Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at an Exxon gas station in the 1000 block of Mercury Boulevard, near North Armistead Avenue and the Coliseum Central area. In the parking lot, police found two men and one woman with gunshot wounds. All three were taken to the hospital.

Hampton police spokesman Joshua Dye said a 19-year-old man had life-threatening gunshot wounds, while a 21-year-old man and 22-year-old woman had non-critical wounds.

The shooting took place in the parking lot and did not involve any Exxon employees, Dye said. He said he did not immediately know what led to the shooting.

Police released images taken from surveillance showing two people entering a gas station along with two sedans that are allegedly involved with the shooting.

One car is a Mercedes C-class sedan, and other is a Nissan sedan, Dye said.

Anyone who may be able to identify them is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 757-727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP. Tipsters can also send anonymous tips by visiting http://P3Tips.com.
