Gary Quentin Williams OBITUARY

Gary Quentin Williams OBITUARY

Gary Quentin Williams, born on October 27, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on September 5, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa; five sisters, Cecelia Salisbury, Kim Spahne (Bradley), Ramona Williams (Jim), Juanita Joynes and Carla Haygood (Hal); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sister-in-law.

A graduate of Hampton HS, Gary helped his team bring home the State Wrestling Championship for the Crabbers in 1969. As a sheet metal mechanic (Local 100), Gary felt so fortunate to travel the world while working in ship repair in Saudi Arabia for over 2.5 years, and in Antarctica for five years at the South Pole. During the time he worked overseas, he was able to visit many countries, including England, Germany, Australia, Italy, Spain, England, Thailand and New Zealand. One of his favorite memories was scuba diving in the Maldive Islands. Gary was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 13467.

Gary will be remembered as a respectful, witty and clever man, and so darn funny. He will be missed by his family and friends, and all the people who are lucky enough to have known him and shared a laugh with him over the years.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday September 12, 2024 at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church, 1544 South Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23322. Friends are invited to share memories and sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.
