Under some circumstances, setting the status of an order to fulfilled will be conducted automatically right from the <strong>Shopify POS application<\/strong> when your customers make purchases and pay money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Enable automatic order fulfillment in Shopify POS for iPad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-mark-a-shopify-pos-order-as-fulfilled\">To mark a Shopify POS order as fulfilled:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. Select <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Store<\/code>, and then choose <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Settings<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Click the Mark orders as fulfilled option<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/SU5qNHs.png\" alt=\"To mark a Shopify POS order as fulfilled\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"location-settings\">Location settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In your Shopify admin, you will see the Locations page easily which includes the name and address of stores, headquarters, and pop-up shops. Tax rates are applied to in-person orders based on the location assigned by the POS device. However, you should assign the <strong>Shopify POS<\/strong> to a location after installing this app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"add-a-store-location-as-the-following\">Add a store location as the following:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Shopify POS<\/code>, tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Point of Sale &gt; Locations<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Select <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Add location<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/fi6rbHO.png\" alt=\"Add a store location\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 3. Fill in the details of your new location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>step 4. Click <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Save<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-edit-a-store-location\">To edit a store location<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From your Shopify admin, go to <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Point of Sale &gt; Locations<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Choose the name of the location that you want to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3. Update the location\u2019s information such as the name, address, or telephone number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 4. Click <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Save<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-delete-a-store-location\">To delete a store location<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From your Shopify admin, go to <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Point of Sale &gt; Locations<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Choose the name of the location that you want to delete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3. Click <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Delete<\/code> location<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/mJvRan9.png\" alt=\"To delete a store location\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 4. Click <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Delete<\/code> to confirm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"staff-settings-on-shopify-pos\">Staff settings on Shopify POS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Shopify POS with the retail package on an iPad supports the staff settings while the Shopify POS for iPhone or Android is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the Staff settings screen, it is easy to add or remove members of staff. A unique four-digit PIN code will be provided to each individual member to access the <a href=\"https:\/\/avada.io\/blog\/pos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Shopify POS application<\/strong><\/a>. With this code, they can also check out their customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The staff member name tied to the orders they processed through <strong>Shopify POS<\/strong>. In the Shopify admin, you can easily check them on the order\u2019s detail view and Timeline. Nevertheless, users having the limited access can only manage their own account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-add-a-new-shopify-pos-staff-pin\">To add a new Shopify POS staff PIN<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In case of staff members want to access to your Shopify admin beyond the <strong>Shopify POS<\/strong>, you need to add them in the Shopify admin. They are given full access to utilize the Shopify admin and POS app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can add a new staff member by the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Shopify POS<\/code>, select <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Store<\/code>, and then select <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Staff<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Add POS staff PINs<\/code> in the POS-ONLY section<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/ZnlFbI0.png\" alt=\"add a new Shopify POS staff PIN\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 3. Fill in the name of the staff member, and then give them a four-digit PIN code to log in to Shopify POS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 4. Click <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Add PIN<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"edit-a-staff-members-details\">Edit a staff member\u2019s details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Shopify POS<\/code>, go to <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Store &gt; Staff<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Click a staff member\u2019s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3. Edit the staff member\u2019s name. Your changes will be saved when you leave the screen. (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 4. Tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Change PIN CODE<\/code>, enter a new PIN code and confirm by tapping <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Change PIN<\/code>. (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"set-limited-permissions-for-staff-with-pos-pins\">Set limited permissions for staff with POS PINs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can limit staff members access permissions with POS PINs from the in-app settings. By this way, they will not be able to see orders from other locations, access register shift, payment, or locations settings, and change receipts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-enable-limited-permissions-you-have-to\">To enable limited permissions, you have to:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From Shopify POS, tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Store &gt; Staff<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Enable the <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Limited permissions<\/code> option<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/Fik7fxF.png\" alt=\"Set limited permissions for staff with POS PINs\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"delete-a-staff-member\">Delete a staff member<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From Shopify POS, tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Store<\/code>, and then tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Staff<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Choose a staff member\u2019s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3. Tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Delete<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/Vwv6zxb.png\" alt=\"Delete a staff member with POS\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"set-staff-permissions-for-shopify-pos\">Set staff permissions for Shopify POS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the Account settings page of Shopify admin, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/avada.io\/blog\/how-set-staff-account-permissions-shopify\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">change your staff members\u2019 account permissions<\/a> so that they are able to login to <strong>Shopify POS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"required-staff-permissions\">Required staff permissions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If staff members\u2019 account is not given full access permissions, they will receive the following error when logging in to Shopify POS for iPad:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/pBbwtBr.png\" alt=\"required staff permissions\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"register-shifts\">Register shifts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When transactions happened in your online store, register shifts help you balance the cash drawer easily and hold staff responsible for the money they\u2019ve processed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The register settings are only available in Shopify POS with the retail package on an iPad. The device\u2019s saved register shift data will be lost if you re-install the Shopify POS app, or upgrade to a newer iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-register-screen\">The Register screen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Sales register<\/strong> screen gives you the possibility to generate and keep the track of register shifts in your web store. You can track your daily total sales and refunds for particular payment methods, and all the cash in your cash drawer as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To open <strong>Sales register<\/strong> screen in the Shopify POS app on your iPad, tap <strong>Store<\/strong>, and then tap <strong>Sales register<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-cash-register-settings\">To cash register settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. From Shopify POS, tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Store<\/code>, and then tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Sales register<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Settings<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/tDnIZK8.png\" alt=\"To cash register settings\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><p>Step 3. Tap the toggle buttons to <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">enable\/disable<\/code> the following options:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enable sales register<br>This feature helps you track your takings, total sales for each payment method, and the cash in your cash drawer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Track cash<br>This feature lets you track your cash float based on a per-shift. This option is not available if Enable sales register is disabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"open-a-new-register-shift\">Open a new register shift<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can <strong>create a new Shopify POS register shift<\/strong> in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"opening-a-register-shift-manually\">Opening a register shift manually<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You need to specify the value of your initial cash float for the register shift if you want to generate a new register shift manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. On your iPad, go to the Shopify POS app Register screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Tap the <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">+<\/code> button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/E4zyVFG.png\" alt=\"Opening a register shift manually\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 3. Enter the cash float amount<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/RPs5meE.png\" alt=\"Opening a register shift manually\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 4. Enter a note (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 5. Tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">Done<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"opening-register-shifts-automatically\">Opening register shifts automatically<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shopify opens a new register shift automatically in case of you had closed a register shift and you don\u2019t open another before handling the next order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Automatic shifts without cash tracking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will receive this message after completing the first transaction in the new register shift if you do not enable the cash tracking in your register settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/rNQxUmH.png\" alt=\"Automatic shifts without cash tracking\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Automatic shifts with cash tracking enabled<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the cash tracking enabled, the float (or opening) amount is the calculated cash balance at the close of the previous register shift. The float is auto-set to $0 when you process the first register shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/Zw7NDTO.png\" alt=\"Automatic shifts with cash tracking enabled\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"if-you-do-not-accept-cash-payments\">If you do not accept cash payments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need to enter a cash float amount during a register shift if you turn off the cash tracking in your register settings. However, if you do not enable the Open and save shifts option in your register settings, your register shift will not keep the track of all sales made using other payment methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"view-details-about-a-register-shift\">View details about a register shift<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can view the register shift history and the detailed information about sales for certain payment methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-view-a-summary-of-activity-during-a-register-shift\">To view a summary of activity during a register shift:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. On your iPad, go to the <strong>Shopify POS app Register screen<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Tap the register shift whose history you want to view.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"view-the-history-of-a-register-shift\">View the history of a register shift<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re viewing an open or a closed register shift or you enable the cash tracking settings, the information changes slightly. However, the date, the total sales of the shift, the name of the staff member who opened the shift, the initial float amount, any changes that staff members have made to the total cash in the drawer is always displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will see the name of the staff member who closed the shift if the shift you are viewing is closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the cash tracking is enabled before the shift was closed, the cash counted at the end of the shift, the cash in the drawer which was expected when the shift was closed, and the cash left in the float after you processed the final balance of the cash drawer is also displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"view-detailed-sales-information-for-a-register-shift\">View detailed sales information for a register shift<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. Go to the <strong>Shopify POS app Sales register screen<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. Tap the register shift you want to view.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3. Tap <code class=\"language-plaintext highlighter-rouge\">View Details<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/MOZk8s9.png\" alt=\"View detailed sales information for a register shift\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"adjust-the-float\">Adjust the float<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a staff member cannot make the exact change with the cash currently in the drawer, he or she needs to temporarily remove cash from the till, and the cash in the drawer has exceeded your imposed limit, the float adjustment is necessary. Notably, you should record any adjustments made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-adjust-the-amount-available-in-the-register\">To adjust the amount available in the register:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. Go to the Shopify POS app Sales register screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. The register shift which you are viewing is currently open<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3. Tap Make adjustment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 4. Tap either Add or Remove<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 5. Enter the amount added or removed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 6. Enter a note, if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 7. Tap Done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mageplaza.com\/media\/general\/otPGLmL.png\" alt=\"To adjust the amount available in the register\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"close-a-register-shift\">Close a register shift<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should close register shifts at regular intervals balance your cash drawer accurately. The cash counted at the end of the shift, the expected value of the cash in the drawer, and the cash left for the float are added to the register shift history after closing a register shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The expected balance and the amount of cash in the cash drawer should be the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"to-close-a-register-shift\">To close a register shift:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1. Go to the Shopify POS app Sales register screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2. The register shift which you are viewing is currently open<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3.
